James has a passion for music and has been teaching iin local schools for many years.  James brings a new passion to the musical program, and we are all the beneficiaries of his work with some truly wonderful entertainment lined up this year.

Your school has a great opportunity to participate in this event. Your students have a unique chance to perform on a professionally run stage complete with concert grade sound and lighting gear, with professional stage management.

Choirs – 25th October 5:30PM Start

Music Express Sponsoring 2013This year we will have a huge 14 choirs performing. Not only will the public get to enjoy some stunning performances, the kids are in for a real treat, as Lisa Lockland-Bell has agreed to adjudicate the competition this year.

Lisa is a graduate from the Qld Conservatorium of Music, as well as studying at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York. Lisa has performed at the Sydney Opera House, and close to home, at QPAC with the Queensland Pops Orchestra. With a passion for adjudicating vocal and choral eisteddfods, Lisa will bring her skills honed on the world stage to Goodna this year.

Bands – Saturday 26th October 8:30am start

The bands competition is always greatly enjoyed by festival goers, as we are so lucky to have so many talented young people in our region. A total of 11 bands are going head to head in this years competition, so we can expect the quality to be great.

We are pleased to announce that Chris Scott, accomplished percussionist and singer, will be adjudicating the bands competition. Chris has been in military bands since 15 years of age, soloing in major Tatoo’s around the world. Chris is now a full time music teacher with Education Queensland.

Having Chris adjudicate means our local school bands will benefit from him advice and expertise.
