The Goodna Jacaranda Festival’s Quest for Talent is proud to welcome an exceptional judging panel this year — three accomplished professionals whose expertise spans the worlds of classical, contemporary, and musical theatre performance. Together, they bring a wealth of experience, passion, and artistic insight to guide and inspire the next generation of performers.
Seiko Wong – Crossover Soprano and Senior Vocal Coach

Based in Brisbane, Seiko Wong is a celebrated crossover soprano and one of the region’s most respected vocal coaches. Currently serving as Director of the Brisbane Music Centre, her musical journey began under the mentorship of Malaysian baritone Heng Lai and renowned Australian soprano Maggie Noonan.
Blending a strong foundation in classical opera with contemporary vocal training techniques, Ms. Wong helps students excel across multiple genres — from pop to musical theatre. Her teaching approach draws on methods from the crossover singing discipline, empowering vocalists to perform with confidence and versatility.
A dedicated advocate for music and community, Seiko has contributed to numerous charity and cultural events in Brisbane and served as a vocal competition judge for over a decade. Her accolades include 5th place globally in the opera category at the Hong Kong International Vocal Open Competition. She has also judged The Voice of China (Queensland Division) three times — in 2018, 2021, and 2023 — and currently directs the Australian Division of the Hong Kong International Vocal Open Competition.
