Each year southeast Queensland’s best young talent converges on Ipswich to compete in the Jacaranda Festival Quest for Talent.
The Goodna Community Association is excited to be able to provide local performers the opportunity hone their skills and practice in front of an appreciative crowd at the Jacaranda Festival.
The Quest provides a fantastic development opportunity for performers to hone their skills in front of qualified judges and the local crowd.
With professional staging and sound, you’ll be working with pro’s and putting on one of the greatest live shows.

The Venue
The Quest is staged inside the Goodna Jacaranda Festival, this year on Friday 25th October. Festival Gates open at 4PM and the Quest starts at 4:30PM sharp.
Contestants will be called backstage shortly before their performance time slot. Outside of your performance you are welcome to sit with your family and friends front of stage and enjoy the other performances.
Contestants will need to register their attendance as early as possible on arrival.
The Festival is a ticketed event. All attendees need a valid ticket to enter. See Entries details for more information.
Entries
Each Entry to the Quest for Talent costs $22 including GST.
With each entry you will receive 1 adult and 1 youth ticket for entry to the festival. Additional tickets can be purchased ahead of time. If you are entering multiple times under different groups / categories you are welcome to specify different recipients for the included tickets.
Heats
Currently we no plans to hold heats. Should a large number of entries be received we will conduct heats for categories where appropriate and communicate the information to contestants.

Quest Rules
All contestants and others attending Quest for Talent do so at their own risk.
Acts are defined as a specific individual or group of individuals.
Groups must perform with the same individuals at the heats and finals. Substitutions are not permitted.
Individuals can enter in multiple acts as members of groups.

Entries are accepted via category requirements.
Cateogory Information
Vocal – Any song can be sung as a group or single act accompanied by a backing track or a capella.
Variety – This category is for everything that doesn’t fit into any other category. This could be a musical theater act, a magic act, or a spoken piece or a purely instrumental performance.
Original Song – This category is reserved for those who have written their own songs, poetry or other forms of vocal arts. Three copies of the lyrics are to be submitted upon registration at the heats & grand finals.
Entries close October 1st
Payment is to be received immediately, if payment is not received by closing date of the competition, entry may be forfeited.
Entry will be confirmed via email shortly after registration.
Age Restrictions for Groups – group acts will be determined for Senior or Junior categories based on the age of the oldest performer.
The competition age group for a duo or ensemble will be determined by the age of the oldest member.
Any stage requirements and backing music must be given to the coordinator at the time of reporting in for each performance.
Backing audio is to be supplied in MP3 format with your entry.
The part being performed must not be duplicated on the track.
Performance time is limited to a maximum of 4 minutes.
The judges’ decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.
Contestants will be notified on the same night as the heat if they will proceed to the grand finals.
Inappropriate behaviour towards judges or other officials will not be tolerated.
Substitute judges may be used.
No person other than competitors and one parent/supporter per act will be allowed back-stage without the Stage Manager’s approval.
Management retains the right to alter or amend the program in any way, or to combine any categories in which insufficient entries have been received. Any decision in this respect will be final.
All entrants must accept the terms and conditions upon entry.
Any Monetary prizes for the Quest winners will be paid within 30 days of the event.
All contestants or their parent or guardian will be required to sign a release at time of registration.
Contestants or their Parent/Guardian will be required to sign a consent form / waiver at the event before competing.
