• 2010 DANSING WRAP UP

DanSing – a Quest for Talent is over for another year and what an amazing showcase of talent it was!  Performers aged from 7 through to 40+ gave outstanding performances to hundreds of enthralled spectators as they competed for great prizes.

This year showcased for the first time the category of “Original Song”.  This category has added a new dimension to DanSing and gave local performers the opportunity to showcase their writing ability in addition to singing.  Watch this category next year, it will only get better!

Congratulations and well done to everyone who entered.  We encourage you to continue with your chosen art, whether it be singing, dancing, poetry recital or instrument playing, and to enter in our 2011 quest.

This year’s category winners will soon be participating in workshops to improve their performing skills, following which they will perform together at a major local event.  Watch this site and your local newspapers early in 2011 for further information on when and where this will be, so you can continue to support our local talent.

DanSing could not be staged without our generous sponsors, whom we encourage you to support where possible:

Thank you to our judges for the difficult task of judging such fine performances, and for providing valuable feedback to the entrants.  Judges commented “Best Talent we have seen to date!”

And of course thank you to the organising committee, capably led by Don MacLachlan, supported by Christine Dewar and Geoff Weatherstone, who spent many hours preparing to make this year’s event the best yet.

The 2011 Goodna Jacaranda Festival will be held over the weekend of 28/29/30 October 2011 and DanSing will again be a feature event, so note your calendars and keep watching this web site.
