The 2018 Goodna Jacaranda Festival will kick off on October 26th and will have a big musical presence!
As the festival approaches, we can finally begin to reveal more of what we have planned for making our 51st year a great one! We are very excited to announce that the festival will be packed full of fantastic music: our schools program has been able to secure 12 choirs, and 26 bands and string ensembles.
We are really looking forward to seeing (and hearing) all these fantastic young musicians perform in October!
The 12 choirs and 26 bands has been a big increase and a pleasant surprise for the Goodna Jacaranda Festival. “This has been our biggest turn out yet and I think we are only going to get bigger over the next few years”, said our Schools Program Coordinator James Humphry, revealing also that we have had to turn away other performing acts due to the time restrictions.
With so many schools eager to participate in the Jacaranda Festival, it may be natural to expand this area of the festival program in the coming years. “That is something we will have to look into”, says Mathew Taylor, President of the Goodna Community Association, “We hate turning performers away. Ideally, we would have stage time for everyone”.
The festival will run from October 26 to October 28 and is sure to be a great time for all visitors, no matter their age! You can find more information on our official program.
