The 2019 Jacaranda Festival saw keen interest from schools across the region seeking the opportunity for their choirs to perform in our annual school choir competition. Teachers and students unanimously agreed the event was a fantastic opportunity for the schools and students alike and were keen to see it continue in 2020.
Festival President Mathew Taylor said of the competition “It’s a wonderful testament to the community nature of the festival as a whole to have hundreds of members of our local school communities coming to together in celebration.”
2019 saw 13 choirs take the festival main stage with a high standard across the board. The festival was pleased to have Vicki Jones adjudicating the event and providing great feedback to the students, meaning we’re expecting even bigger things next year!
Congratulations to Riverview Choir for receiving the judges perpetual award for 2019.
